# An account

One form, three fields, the same as `POST https://api.emailimport.com/accounts`. For a person: [emailimport.com/account](/account). For an agent: one call, then tell your user to check their mail.

Optional: `sandbox_key`. The sandbox becomes the account's first tenant **in place**: its buckets, tests, changes and messages carry over, and it stops expiring once the account is confirmed. The response carries the account's key; the sandbox's own key belonged to the throwaway account and stops at confirmation, so switch your agent to the new one.

The answer has `account_id`, `tenant_id`, `key`, `mcp_url`, and `handle.status`. A confirmation mail goes out from `notify@mail.emailimport.com` with one link, good for 24 hours; opening it confirms the account, makes the handle live, and turns the sandbox into a tenant that keeps. Until then the tenant keeps the sandbox's expiry and cannot receive mail.

No password. An MCP OAuth login is designed for later; the key is the credential today.
